Trail work planned: We’ll be continuing  brushing  the west section of the Paulina View Trail. There remains about 2/3 mile of trail to be brushed. We’ll be utilizing power equipment to do most of the heavy work; we may have DTC trail crew and COTA volunteers to help, using gas powered brushers to cut most of the small saplings. If they are not available we’ll have our powered pole saw to do most of the heavy brushing. There will be some manual pole saw and lopper work to be done by CONC volunteers as well as clearing the cut brush from the roadway.

Distance and difficulty: The stretch of trail to be cleared starts about 1/4 mile from Ten Mike Sno-Park. It is along a drivable road, so there will not be a need to haul equipment any great distance. The work requires no heavy lifting but does involve bending and throwing brush and saplings

Meeting place and time: 8:30 AM at the south end of the WalMart parking lot on Pinebrook Blvd, Bend… or 9:00 at Ten Mile Sno-Park if you don’t wish to car pool. Please let the coordinator know if you are not carpooling.

Required equipment: Hard hat, gloves, long sleeves, long pants, eye protection. Hearing protection is also required when working around power equipment. We can supply hard hats and ear plugs if you need them.

Expected weather: The forecast is for sunny weather and a high near 60.

Number of volunteers needed: Up to 6

Coordinator:  Sue Sullivan
