A Continuation of Pre-season Trail Maintenance

We’ve been making good progress on pre-season surveys of the ski trails. This Monday a group of sawyers and swampers are clearing the remaining blowdown from the Dutchman and Vista Butte trail systems- and that will complete the preseason prep of the ski trails for the winter season…. Or at least until we have another big wind event.

There are several snowshoe trails that still need to be surveyed and cleared. On Wednesday we’ll cover the Long Loop and, if there are enough volunteers, also the short loop at Edison. We’ll bring loppers and pole saws as well as hand saws, to do some brushing and pruning for marker visibility. If we have a certified sawyer, we’ll be able to clear larger blowdown.
