This is an advanced tour from Vista sno park to the summit of Vista Butte,  ascending by skinning up the vista butte snowshoe trail, which will require full climbing skins, and descending near our uptrack, and involves steep to moderate tree skiing.

You must possess a minimum of advanced intermediate ski skills (telemark or parallel) using the following gear:

  • freeheel/telemark skis no narrower than 99mm, 3 pin 75mm bindings and plastic boots or Alpine Touring skis, boots and bindings
  • full climbing skins
  • 10 essentials and normal day touring gear with lunch and water

This is a short but sweet trip that is a total of only about 2.5 miles round trip and 800 ft of elevation gain. We are expecting some new snow on a very consolidated base which makes for ideal conditions for this trip.

Trip time - approximately 2 to 2.5 hours

When registering please specify the gear you will be using.

Meeting at The Grove at 9am (meet inside near Thump Coffee)
