We will hike from Three Creeks Lake up to Tam McArthur Rim in the Three Sisters Wilderness to the scenic overlook and onward towards Broken Hand. This destination is over 7,700 ft in elevation, so there will still be some snow, but it is a well-trodden path and will not be difficult hiking. Mosquitos are likely to be thick at the trailhead, but will be much reduced as we get up the trail.
Distance: 8 miles round-trip. This is an out and back hike. Plan on spending 6-7 hours, including drive time to/from the trailhead.
Elevation Gain: 1,300 feet.
Difficulty Level: Moderate
What to Bring: Summer ten essentials, water, snack/lunch, and proper footwear (no sandals or tennis shoes). Dogs are not allowed on this hike.
Number of Hikers: 10. We have a wilderness permit for 10 people.
Carpooling: Carpooling can be arranged at the meeting place. It is about a 50-min drive to the trailhead. If you ride with someone, please donate to their gas fund.
Meeting Time/Place: 7:30 am. Meet at the parking lot between Petsmart and Ashley Furniture in Cascade Center. Petsmart is located at 63455 N. Hwy 97, Bend, 97701, right off of NW Robal Ln and across from the new Costco. Trip leader will be driving a brown Ford truck.
